About & methodology

Tools for Machining makes browser-local shop-math helpers. It translates declared inputs into transparent calculations; it does not prescribe cutting data or replace training, guarding, workholding, or manufacturer instructions.

Formulas and tested examples

Each calculator states its equation, assumptions, and limits. Deterministic worked examples are retained as regression fixtures so a changed calculation is checked against the example it presents. Guides link sources for process context and distinguish a formula from a toolmaker recommendation.

Use and limits

Inputs are processed in this browser. Results are planning aids: verify the exact tool, material, engagement, holder, machine, and approved shop procedure before cutting. Editorial dates reflect substantive review, never a build timestamp.
